Gone are the days where one can graduate high school expecting to walk into a factory job for 50 years and retire with full benefits. The locales that were built on one or two companies providing the majority of jobs are the ones that are now hit the worst, not only with free trade but now the global financial crises. Is this the corporation's fault? Partly but the other, equal half belongs to the government and the workers themselves. Walking to the same job that isn't challenging or stimulating isn't really work but a habit that pays. Workers should be constantly building skills to make them more valuable to the workforce and not just the company that is employing them and the government should be providing grant money and tax breaks for companies that wish to educate their workers while employing them.Link: Ohio Trying to Recover From Massive Job Losses (layoffs
