Wisconsin employment received another blow today as Chart Industries, a biological laboratory and research center based in Garfield Heights OH, has announced plans to lay off ninety employees at their La Crosse Plant in Wisconsin. Chart Industries is manufactures highly engineered equipment used for producing and storing industrial gases and their Wisconsin plant is responsible for the production of heat exchangers for gas and petrochemical production facilities. Their decision to make 90 workers redundant will take effect as of the beginning of October and will lower the total employed at that location to 212, a mere 60% of its original workforce.
