I see many messages in forums with comments like these:

I got one offer from NNPC , Nigerian National Petrolium Corporation, $19,000 USD per month, as an IT professional.( I will get some other fringe benefit also like residence, transport, some paid leave)

I GOT AN OFFER FROM LAGOS NIGERIA IN CITI GROUP HOW IS LIFE THERE THEY R PAYING ME US$21,690 PER MONTHS IS THIS ANY RACKET OR FRAUD CASE CAN ANY ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS

i have got offer from Citigroup nigeria without any formal inteview and selection process. Can any one tell me about genuineness of the offer or can guide me with regard to this. Salary is excellent

How people are getting jobs in Nigeria without interview. People are getting salary of US$19,000/- and above on what basis. Is this true or money making racket. Have anybody gone to Nigeria without interview and based on the offer got through e-mail. Can anyone highlight the truth

Those messages never seem to end. Finally someone posts with a little insight.. following a message like the above he says:

They mailed him like he needs to pay around $1,150USD for the Immigration paper work. They are offering him $24,000USD, is it a right company or just a fraudent mail.

It is pretty clear these job offers are just scams. They come out of the blue, who is going to offer you a job paying US$20,000 without an internet and apparently without you even applying!

But it is a very enticing offer. The catch seems to be you'll have to put up some money for paperwork.

I think you can be sure that as long as you'll willing to keep paying for paperwork they'll keep finding paperwork for you to pay for.

There is no job!

why are you people doing this to us, pleas dont spoil our scam work ohh okay?

For all the effort you put into working your scams... you could get a real job.

Yes, I realize that jobs are hard to get in Nigeria, Africa and many parts of the world.

However, you can use your intelligence to earn an honest living over the internet.

Why don't you want to help raise your country to higher levels rather than making it look like a cesspool of losers in the image of the world?

I also received an offer - at the River Gas Nigeria Ltd project. Look into the net at the company name and find if it exists. What does it say about the process going on for the petrochemical industry, etc.

I looked up this company....seems up on the net...however, before I accept - has anyone heard of River Gas Nigeria, Ltd.?

I saw others have offers as well.

I just recieved an offer from Seadrill Inc for a drilling job in Soku Nigeria. I was suspicious at the fact they didn't require any of the normal international certification. The addresses given all checked out on Seadrill's website, but the telephone numbers were for mobiles. And finally I was told the job was inland, but Seadrill only drills offshore. SCAM ARTISTS!

There are up to 150 million people in Nigeria. It takes only a very few hundreds/thousands to send all those mails and attend to those who respond. They are only thriving because Nigeria's IT infrastructure can not track their satellite-linked internet activities

I received an offer of job from Chevron Nigeria, They said to me I have to pay by inmigration lawyer nothing, but I am thinking this is a fraud.

Can any one of you suggest whether this is true or not...i got an offer from Seadrill, Nigeria and they are asking me to pay $860 for DPR. I also receive mail from Nigerian high commisioner, new delhi stating that they were told by Seadrill. They are offering me $23500. I am confused whether this is true or not.. pls advise so that I take my decision. I really want to kow if anyone has paid for DPR if they have seen the consequences after that...
