    Name of your website?

    OTR Jobs.com

    Your name?

    Joseph Johnson

    Your Location (city, etc)

    Varna, IL

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We are Owned and Operated by a Real Truck Driver and we are trying to help quality Truck Drivers find jobs with quality Employers.

Our focus is helping the Truck Drivers, not the Trucking Companies...

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The Owner, Operator and Founder of OTR Jobs.com was previously employed by Consolidated Freightways, prior to their closing. Upon being laid-off, Norm applied with several Online Trucking Job sites and the end result was our home phone being bombarded by inconsiderate recruiters calling at all hours (and, offering him unbelievably low and down right offensive salaries)!

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Norm has been an Over The Road (OTR) Truck Driver for over thirty years and truly is a professional driver, as such, his focus was to specifically help other OTR drivers.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We care... Instead of selling your personal information to random recruiters, we have our own in-house recruiters call you to find out what kind of job you are looking for, what salary, how much time home you would prefer, etc. Once we know what you're looking for, we go and contact the companies which you are well suited for.

It is this thorough, hands on process of developing a personal connection with our Applicants and the Trucking Industries' Elite Companies that allows us to match up Quality Truck Drivers with Quality Employers.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We intend to develop OTR Jobs.com and it's sister site, OTR Jobs.ca, so that we can help Truck Drivers all across North America.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We are still a start up company and so only time will tell...

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would provide incentives to our visitors, applicants, advertising affiliates; expand our Search Engine Optimization and general Online Marketing strategies; and, provide more services that are truly suited for Truck Drivers.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

    Yes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

    Marketing / Advertising... Go figure.

What has been your biggest challenge?

    Marketing / Advertising... Go figure.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Fliers, T-Shirts, Hats and the CB.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It's taken longer than expected to get up and running, let alone to get the traffic flow that we had anticipated.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We have owned the site for approximately four years and we have no intention of selling the site (whether it's a success or not).

When are you expecting your site to acheive a good Alex rating?

    Within six to twelve months.

    What is your website address?
