On 02/10/09 13:49, zoot asked the following question:
I am experiencing a difficult situation with a family member who is currently in a nursing home. Our company scheduled a "mandatory" 7 AM meeting for this past Monday. I received a call Sunday evening that this family member was being taken to the ER. On my way out, I asked my husband to phone one of the partners in the company to let him know that I may not be able to make it. I didn't get home until 3:30 AM so I didn't attend. In the meeting, our President used me as an example and stated that he received a text message from his partner saying that I wouldn't be in because of a "family issue". Only a few people in my office know what I'm dealing with and I feel that sharing this personal information in a public setting was uncalled for. What exactly are my rights?
